The time has come to unlearn our humanity.
We deploy provisional morals, juggle conjectural ethics,
lavish fools, hypocrites and cowards with our esteem,
and delude ourselves with extenuation and contingency,
all while our true nature is a matter for negotiation
between monsters meeting behind closed doors.
Arthropods and insects, arise! Riot, weeds,
in the garden of our derelict humanity!
Silkworms, weave your libraries of nothing!
Orbit-spindled stars wind up your threads of light!
Owls and glow worms, claim the night!
Hawks and honey bees, take the day!
The Earth hallucinated humans for a while,
but now that nightmare is over
and we will be beasts again.
